Privacy policy

Lemsy is run by Kanan Samandarli. This page explains what the app keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. For any question, write to hello@lemsy.app.

What we keep

  • Your account: your email address, and the name and picture the account you sign in with shares (Google, Apple, Microsoft or Facebook), and which of them you use.
  • What you make: your projects, the images you upload, and the pictures and stories AI books make for you.
  • What you write to us with Send feedback, and the questions you ask in the chat on the home page, with the email address you give there so we can answer.
  • If you buy a plan or a picture pack: your plan, when it renews or ends, the packs you bought, and the customer and subscription numbers our reseller Paddle gives us. We never see or keep your card details.
  • Counts of what happens in the app (sign-ups, projects started, PDFs made), and at sign-up the app's language and your browser's, without names, email addresses or the themes you type.
  • Server logs of requests and errors, with the internet (IP) address they came from, to keep the app running and safe. They are deleted after 30 days.

AI books

When you make an AI book, the theme you type and the choices you make are sent to OpenAI, which writes the book and draws its pictures. OpenAI gets no name or email address from us. Please don't type a child's name or other personal details into a theme.

Why we keep it

  • Only to run the app for you: to sign you in, save your work, make your PDFs and AI books, answer your messages, keep the service safe and learn which features help. We never sell your data and show no ads.
  • Running the app you signed up for is what allows us to use your account and your work (our agreement with you). Keeping the service safe, stopping abuse of the AI allowance and learning which features help are our legitimate interests; they never need more than the counts and logs above.

Who else handles it

  • Google, Apple, Microsoft and Facebook (when you sign in with them), Resend (sending sign-in emails, and your questions from the home page to us), OpenAI (AI books) and the company that hosts the server. Each gets only what its part needs.
  • Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited, United Kingdom), our online reseller, when you buy: it takes your payment, card and billing details, charges the tax and sends receipts, as the seller, under its own privacy policy.
  • OpenAI and Resend are in the United States, so the themes you type for AI books, your email address when we email you a sign-in link, and the questions you ask us with your email address, are handled there.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in. Your language is remembered in your browser. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

  • Your account and your work stay until you delete them. Finished PDFs are deleted after an hour. Questions from the home page are deleted after a year. Paddle keeps the records of payments as long as tax law asks.
  • When you delete your account, it is deleted from the app at once, with everything in it. Copies in our backups are deleted within 60 days.
  • Two things stay after that, so that deleting an account can't be used to get around the AI allowance: how many AI pictures it used, until the end of that month, and a block on AI books if we had set one for abuse. Both are kept under a code made from your email address, never the address itself.

Your choices

  • In Account settings you can download a copy of all your data, sign out on every device, and delete your account with everything in it.
  • You can also ask us what we keep about you, ask us to correct it, or object to how we use it: contact us. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

Lemsy is for adults who make materials for children. Children should not use it on their own. Please don't upload photos of children or type their names.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date above changes too; big changes are announced in the app.
